Team news

West Ham goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski could be sidelined for several weeks after a recurrence of a hip injury.

New signing Darren Randolph is set to replace Fabianski, who was previously absent for three months.

Meanwhile, Felipe Anderson, Michail Antonio and Arthur Masuaku are all injury doubts for the clash with Everton.

Everton will be without Richarlison and Gylfi Sigurdsson. Carlo Ancelotti confirmed he will be unable to use Richarlison at the London Stadium due to a twisted knee while Sigurdsson is sidelined with a groin problem.

Centre-back Yerry Mina is fit and available after missing training for the first half of the week. Alex Iwobi (hamstring) will miss out, though Carlo Ancelotti is hopeful he will return to training next week.

Ivory Coast midfielder Jean-Philippe Gbamin is continuing his rehabilitation following surgery on a thigh injury but Ancelotti has revealed he is "improving fast".

Opta stats

  • West Ham have won just three of their last 23 Premier League matches against Everton (D6 L14), keeping just one clean sheet in that run, a 0-0 draw in April 2017.
  • Everton have won seven of their last 11 away Premier League games against West Ham (D3 L1), with their only defeat coming on the final of the 2017-18 season.
  • When conceding at least once, West Ham haven't won any of their last 12 Premier League games, drawing two and losing 10 since a 3-1 win at Watford in August.
  • None of West Ham's last 11 Premier League games has ended in a draw, with the Hammers winning three and losing eight of those.
  • Everton have won three of their four Premier League games under Carlo Ancelotti, as many as they had in their previous 14 combined under Duncan Ferguson/Marco Silva. The Toffees are averaging 16 shots and 5.5 on target per game under the Italian, compared to 13 efforts and 4.3 on target before his arrival.
  • Since leaving Everton in the summer of 2013, West Ham manager David Moyes has lost five of his six Premier League games against his former side (W1).

Charlie Nicholas' prediction

What a cracking game. David Moyes, who I thought would get the Everton job, comes up against his old club once more. I have to be honest; I thought Everton fans were tremendously cruel to Moyes.

He walks in the door at West Ham and everyone wonders how he will get on. He does have to prove a point and keep West Ham alive, but I did the Everton match and they only just deserved to win against Brighton. In the end, they were panicking.

Carlo Ancelotti has picked up a couple of decent results but the scar and embarrassment of losing to Liverpool's schoolboys still lingers. He will want to prove a point to Everton fans and really, he believes he should be back there. It looked as though it should have been his job, but they went with the fabulous Carlo Ancelotti and he is a different man.

West Ham will be aggressive and get in their face. Everton are a talented bunch and they are an inconsistent bunch. I am going for narrow scorelines this weekend, so Jeff Stelling may be worried about the £250,000 jackpot going!

CHARLIE PREDICTS: 2-1 (9/1 with Sky Bet)
