Tom Bradshaw returned from injury to grab a vital winner to ease Walsall's relegation worries with a 1-0 win over Fleetwood.
Back from a hamstring strain, Bradshaw latched onto a neat pass from Michael Cain to drive in his 17th of the season from a tight angle, and it was the Saddlers's first goal in over seven hours of football and their first win in seven games. Fleetwood made a lively start and in the seventh minute Proctor created space for a shot but lifted the ball high over the bar. Then Walsall pushed forward and, after controlling a pass from Romaine Sawyers on his chest, Bradshaw hooked his shot into the crowd. More Fleetwood pressure saw Proctor release David Ball who was forced wide before cutting inside and shooting too high, and as the Saddlers hit back Kieron Morris saw a fierce rising drive saved by Chris Maxwell. Walsall dominated the second half but lacked a cutting edge, although Bradshaw had one low drive blocked by Maxwell, and Fleetwood seemed to have settled for a point before Bradshaw's late winner dented their play-off hopes.
