Wissam Ben Yedder scored twice in the opening 11 minutes as Toulouse finished the Ligue 1 season with a victory at home to Montpellier. Ben Yedder netted with two smart finishes to takes his tally for the league campaign to 13. Victory was still not enough to lift the hosts above their opponents in the final table as Montpellier, last season's champions, finished ninth and Toulouse 10th. The home side came roaring out of the blocks tonight and were ahead after five minutes. Franck Tabanou's long ball put Ben Yedder clear on goal and, with only Geoffrey Jourdren to beat, he rounded the goalkeeper and slid the ball into the empty net. Ben Yedder got free again six minutes later, this time following Adrien Rabiot's through-ball, and he faked to shoot before firing home right-footed. Trailing 2-0, the visitors finally started playing and Remy Cabella curled a free-kick inches over before Marco Estrada went event closer, crashing a set-piece from way out off a post. Jourdren had to be alert to stop a third Toulouse goal, though, as he kept out an overhead kick from the unmarked Tabanou. The visitors had the first chance of the second half, again from a free-kick, which Estrada bent just wide. But the Toulouse attack were looking by far the more dangerous and Tabanou headed Ben Yedder's corner straight at Jourdren, who then had to block Daniel Braaten's first-time shot from inside the area. Jourdren's opposite number finally had something to do in the 70th minute when he flung himself to keep out a Cabella shot which had been bound for the top corner. Toulouse had the final chance of the night, though, when Braaten's superb volley brought a parry out of over-worked Jourdren.
