Jeremie Aliadiere struck 13 minutes from time to hand Lorient all three points from Sunday's Ligue 1 encounter at Toulouse. With both sides well clear of both the battles for Europe and to avoid relegation, the match had a lethargic feel and rarely sparked prior to Aliadiere's late intervention. Lorient coach Christian Gourcuff said before kick-off that he would not allow the remainder of their league campaign to fizzle out despite admitting the club's main goal is now winning the Coupe de France, having reached the semi-finals of the competition. And the coach will have been heartened that his players kept going to claim all the points today despite Toulouse enjoying the lion's share of what chances there were. Aliadiere was involved in Lorient's first attack of the match on eight minutes when he released Benjamin Corgnet for a run and shot that was deflected for a corner. Toulouse threatened in the 29th minute when Serge Aurier teed up Pantxi Sirieix for a diving header that Fabien Audard did well to save. Six minutes after the break Audard was again on hand to save from Wissam Ben Yedder, while the Lorient goalkeeper then kept out Adrien Regattin's 15-yard drive. The hosts were again thwarted in the 71st minute when Regattin's bouncing drive from distance was repelled by the visiting goalkeeper. Audard's solid work at the back was rewarded in the 77th minute as a hopeful long ball forward was misjudged by the Toulouse centre-backs and goalkeeper Olivier Blondel, allowing Aliadiere to latch onto the loose ball and score into the empty net.
