Evian were left three points short of safety at the foot of Ligue 1 after a goalless draw at Toulouse which did little to set the pulses racing. Pascal Dupraz's men would have returned to the dressing rooms kicking themselves after failing to get a maximum-point haul which would have reduced the deficit between themselves and Sochaux to a single point. A point on the road is nothing to be ashamed of, though, and this result could prove vital at the end of the season, especially as the weight of play suggested Toulouse should have won. The home side, safe in the knowledge they were 10 points clear of trouble, had the better chances but lacked the cutting edge, staying true to their middle-of-the-road record this season. They have won eight, lost nine and drawn 10 games, scoring and conceding 32 goals in the process and should be okay for another season in the top flight. They did not start the better tonight - Cedric Barbosa volleyed over for Evian - but were soon probing, with Etienne Didot going close. Franck Tabanou then set Wissam Ben Yedder free and his cross-shot skipped wide, while Tabanou worked Bertrand Laquait from the edge of the box. After the break Alain Casanova's men continued to attack, with Tabanou setting up Pavle Ninkov who went close, before Evian briefly threatened when Saber Khelifa's snap-shot shaved the top of the bar. Toulouse got back on the front foot, though, and Laquait twice denied Adrien Regattin, while the same two duelled again with two minutes left, but there would be no breakthrough.
