Watford let a two-goal lead slip in the last 10 minutes to draw 2-2 with Shrewsbury in their pre-season friendly at Greenhous Meadow.
Goals either side of half-time from Cristian Battocchio and Tommie Hoban had put the Hornets in control. But the habit of conceding late goals which hindered them last season was evident once again as a late brace from Scott Vernon earned the League Two hosts a deserved draw.
