Walsall came from behind to earn a hard-fought 1-1 draw at Sheffield United in League One on Saturday.
Tom Bradshaw equalised for the Saddlers just a few minutes after Chris O'Grady had opened the scoring for the hosts. Jose Baxter went close in first-half stoppage time with a 25-yard effort which thumped the crossbar. Baxter and O'Grady both headed off target earlier in the game while Stefan Scougall's header lacked the power to trouble goalkeeper Richard O'Donnell. Walsall's only effort of note before the break came when Jordan Cook's free-kick struck the defensive wall. O'Grady struck the opening goal after 56 minutes when Baxter's ball found him in space on the right-hand side of the area and he fired a low shot past O'Donnell. Bradshaw equalised three minutes later, planting a firm header beyond Mark Howard from Cook's well-flighted cross. Bob Harris threatened to score a winner for the hosts when his drive skimmed the top of the bar. United substitute Florent Cuvelier, under pressure from a covering defender, headed wide late on.
