Sheffield Wednesday v Huddersfield preview

Morgan Fox of Charlton

Sheffield Wednesday head coach Carlos Carvalhal could hand a debut to recent signing Morgan Fox in the home against Huddersfield, although must wait and see if a deal for Barnsley's Sam Winnall can be completed in time.

Defender Fox was ineligible for last weekend's FA Cup defeat at Middlesbrough after joining from Charlton for an undisclosed fee, while forward Winnall is closing in on a Hillsborough switch.

Gary Hooper could return to contention after being sidelined for seven weeks with a hamstring injury. The striker scored twice in the development squad's 3-0 win against Barnsley this week.

Goalkeeper Keiren Westwood and defender Sam Hutchinson are pushing for recalls, but Almen Abdi is still sidelined and fellow midfielder Kieran Lee is out for the rest of the season following hip surgery.

Huddersfield's on-loan Chelsea midfielder Izzy Brown is hoping to make his league debut.

Brown made his first appearance in last week's FA Cup win against Port Vale after cutting short his stay at Rotherham and joining Town until the end of the season.

Head coach David Wagner is expected to be without midfielder Jonathan Hogg and winger Rajiv van La Parra again as both players are struggling with knee injuries, while Kasey Palmer (hamstring) is doubtful.
