Holders Sevilla saw off Villarreal to book their place in the last four of the Copa del Rey.

Renato, Kanoute and Alexis see holders make last four

Holders Sevilla booked their place in the last four of the Copa del Rey with a comprehensive 6-3 aggregate win over Villarreal. The quarter-final was delicately poised with the sides level at 3-3 after the first leg but efforts from Dirnei Renato, Frederic Kanoute and Alexis saw the holders progress. Renato notched the opener with a tap in after just seven minutes before Kanoute netted the crucial second two minutes after the interval. Alexis scored three minutes later to kill off any lingering hopes of the visitors, with Sevilla now set to face either Atletico or Real Madrid in the semi-finals. Real lead 3-1 from the first leg when hostilities resume on Thursday.
