Kenny Miller scored in stoppage time as Rangers came from behind to beat Motherwell 2-1 at Ibrox.

The visitors, who won their last game away to Rangers, had taken the lead through former Celtic striker Scott McDonald.

But the game turned following the introduction of Niko Kranjcar who set up Harry Forrester to equalise and then provided the assist for Miller's winner in the dying seconds.

Gers were the brighter side in the opening stages with Miller shooting wide after a loose clearance by Lionel Ainsworth, while Forrester's dipping effort was narrowly over the bar.

Well's first decent opportunity fell to Ainsworth who fired wide of the post after the ball fell to him.

And they took the lead on 20 minutes when Marvin Johnson's pass found McDonald who tapped the ball in from a yard out.

The visitors came agonisingly close to doubling their lead soon after with Johnson nodding the ball into the path of Craig Clay who lashed his shot just wide.

It was a similar pattern in the second half with Mark Warburton's side creating the better opportunities early on.

Andy Halliday headed over from six yards after James Tavernier's pinpoint cross, while the midfielder was again denied from close range by a good save from Ben Heneghan.

But that stop was bettered by Wes Foderingham at the other end who was at full stretch to keep out McDonald's low goal-bound drive.

Warburton made a double change with Barrie McKay and Halliday making way for Joe Dodoo and Kranjcar.

And former Tottenham midfielder Kranjcar made an immediate impact, playing a sublime through ball for Miller whose shot was parried by Craig Samson only for Forrester to stroke in the rebound on 63 minutes.

The home side continued to dominate with a quick corner by Danny Wilson finding Tavernier on the edge of box but he curled his shot narrowly over.

But they had Foderingham to thank for flying across his goal to deny Johnson's shot from outside the box in the closing stages.

Dodoo hit the side-netting with a shot from a tight angle before Miller grabbed the winner after connecting with Kranjcar's pass to score from close range and continue Rangers' unbeaten start to the Scottish Premiership season.
