Paris Saint-Germain vs Manchester City. UEFA Champions League Quarter Final.
Parc des PrincesAttendance47,228.
Wednesday 6 April 2016 19:24, UK
Paris Saint-Germain winger Angel Di Maria has been passed fit to face Man City in their Champions League quarter-final first leg on Wednesday night.
The Argentine was left out of PSG's 4-1 victory over Nice on Saturday, but has shaken off a muscle injury and will be available for manager Laurent Blanc at the Parc des Princes.
City, who have reached the quarter-finals of the competition for the first time in their history, head to Paris following an impressive 4-0 win over Bournemouth at the weekend.
The return of Joe Hart following a calf injury is a welcome boost for manager Manuel Pellegrini, but City will be without Yaya Toure, who has failed to overcome a knee problem.
Team news
Hart recently withdrew from international duty and then missed the victory over Bournemouth after picking up a calf complaint against Manchester United, but the goalkeeper is available after training ahead of Wednesday's tie.
Fabian Delph (Achilles) has travelled to France and could be in contention but Toure (knee) and captain Vincent Kompany (calf) are still out. Raheem Sterling (groin) is out for a lengthy spell while playmaker Samir Nasri is ineligible.
Di Maria is 100 per cent fit for PSG, but Marco Verratti and Javier Pastore are out.
Opta stats
Only once (in six games) has an English club beaten PSG at the Parc des Princes in European competition. It was José Mourinho's Chelsea in September 2004 (3-0).
The last three Champions League knock-out encounters between Ligue 1 and Premier League clubs have all seen the French team eliminate their English counterpart.
Manchester City have kept fewer clean sheets than any other of the 2015/16 quarter-finalists in this season's Champions League (1 in 8 games).
No team has scored more goals than Manchester City in the final 15 minutes of games in the Champions League this season (6).
PSG have lost only one of their last 38 home matches in European competition (W25 D12), and that was against Barcelona in April 2015 (1-3).
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has scored in each of his last four Champions League games. Only twice before has he gone five in a row in the competition.
Sergio Aguero has scored 16 goals in his last 18 Champions League starts.
Charlie Nicholas' prediction
Bournemouth was a nice easy game for City to prepare for this fixture and their confidence should have had a boost, but I'd still expect PSG to dominate the ball and expose their defensive frailties.
City need to score if they concede because they can't be trusted to keep a clean sheet at home. They've always got a chance of a goal with Aguero while David Silva had his best game of the season at the weekend and Kevin De Bruyne's return is an important one.
However, I fear they'll struggle against this PSG side and suffer a defeat which will all but end their Champions League campaign.
Charlie predicts: 2-0 (6/1 with Sky Bet)
Betting
PSG are Sky Bet's 4/6 favourites to establish a first-leg lead with Manchester City 4/1 to win at the Parc des Princes and 14/5 to leave with a draw.
Pellegrini's men are also 13/8 outsiders to progress. Ibrahimovic heads the first goalscorer betting at 3/1 with Aguero twice the price at 6/1, while the strike duo are enhanced from 9/2 to 5/1 to both net in Sky Bet's Price Bosts.
