Port Vale 1-1 Peterborough: Port Vale pay penalty against Posh
Saturday 17 October 2015 20:09, UK
Port Vale wasted two second-half penalties as they had to settle for a 1-1 draw at home to Peterborough.
Michael O'Connor and Sam Foley both missed spot-kicks and Posh converted a penalty of their own through Michael Bostwick to earn a point
Vale made a strong start but it was the visitors who posed the first serious threat when Lee Angol burst clear to force a decent save from Jak Alnwick in the ninth minute.
Jak's brother Ben Alnwick was in the Peterborough goal and he was also soon in action when he dived low to clutch a fierce shot from Uche Ikpeazu.
A contest which was a cracking advert for League One continued to swing from end to end until Vale took the lead with Enoch Andoh's first goal for the club in the 40th minute.

Byron Moore escaped his marker to roll in a near-post cross from the right byline and Andoh nipped in to force a right-foot shot into the left corner of the net.
Vale should have gone two up in the 48th minute when Ben Alnwick pulled off a brilliant one-handed save from O'Connor's penalty after the Posh goalkeeper was penalised for bringing down Andoh.
Peterborough levelled from the spot eight minutes later when Bostwick blasted his penalty high down the centre of the goal after Souleymane Coulibaly was bundled to the ground.
Both sides had several chances to claim maximum points after that but Foley missed the best after Ikpeazu was brought down by Gabriel Zakuani four minutes from time.
Foley's penalty bounced off the crossbar and struck Ben Alnwick on the back before the ball rolled wide for a corner.
