Newly-promoted Chesterfield are two points behind in 11th, having suffered a second defeat of the season.
The hosts scored what proved to be the winning goal in the 11th minute, when Chislett slotted home after being played in on goal by Lorent Tolaj's lofted pass.

Chislett twice came close to doubling his and his team's tally soon afterwards, forcing a good save out of Ryan Boot before heading over from Benicio Baker-Boaitey's cross.
The Valiants continued to look the more threatening side after the break, with Tolaj shooting narrowly wide and calling Boot into action again just before the hour mark.
But with the visitors failing to muster up any clear-cut chances or register a shot on target throughout the match, a win for Vale never really looked in doubt.
