Toulouse claimed their second away win from their last three matches as they saw off 10-man Nice 2-0 at the Allianz Riviera
Toulouse claimed their second away win from their last three matches as they saw off 10-man Nice 2-0 at the Allianz Riviera. Second-half goals from Eden Ben Bassat and Wissam Ben Yedder made the difference for Alain Casanova's side as they remain 10th in the Ligue 1 table following Bastia's 1-1 draw at Lorient. Nice, who are now winless in their last four league matches, lost Lloyd Palun to a straight red card 10 minutes after the break and dropped down a place to 16th following Guingamp's 2-0 win at Rennes. Toulouse started well and came close with two quick chances after 12 and 15 minutes. The first one fell to Ben Yedder after he was freed by Martin Braithwaite inside the penalty area, but his right-footed effort was sent out for a corner by Nice goalkeeper Mouez Hanssen. France Under-21 striker Ben Yedder came close with their second chance, again picking up a great ball from Braithwaite but this time Hanssen managed to block his strike with much difficulty. Ten minutes before the break, the away side continued to press forward and Ben Yedder caused Hanssen more problems as he sent the ball in from Jonathan Zebina's cross - but the keeper blocked his effort to keep the score goalless at the break. Nice lost midfielder Palun to a straight red card for a nasty tackle on Issiaga Sylla after 54 minutes to leave his side with 10 men for the remainder of the match. Toulouse started to dominate again as the match approached the hour mark as Etienne Didot's free-kick just outside the 18-yard box was headed inches over the bar by Serge Aurier. But their efforts paid off when Israel striker Ben Bassat put them in front after 66 minutes. Sylla crossed a long ball forward which was punched out by Hanssen, but only to defender Mathieu Bodmer, who lost the ball to Oscar Guido Trejo and a swift pass to Bassat found the 27-year-old former Brest forward unmarked and he slotted home from close range. Ben Yedder added a second two minutes into stoppage time after receiving the ball from Aurier and powering his way into the penalty area where he fired a cross-shot past Hanssen.
