Burnley midfielder Steven Reid will bring the curtain down on his career when the Clarets face Aston Villa at Villa Park on Sunday.
The 34-year-old Republic of Ireland international announced this week he will be hanging up his boots this summer.
Reid, a veteran of Ireland's 2002 World Cup campaign, admits the decision was a difficult one and he is now aiming to become a coach.
He said: "It has been a pretty emotional week, I had pretty much decided it was going to be the final season but after I sent the tweet with the announcement I had a little cry in the car. It's time to listen to the body and give it a rest now.
"With the experiences I've had and the managers I have worked with it would be a big regret not to give it a go to get into coaching even though I know it's far from easy.
"I've worked under some great mangers - Billy Bonds gave me my chances and instilled the values of being a footballer: commitment, honesty and respect.
“Under Mark Hughes at Blackburn I had my best season when we finished sixth in the Premier League and then Roy Hodgson was a big influence at West Brom where I developed into a right-back."
