Burnley v Stoke preview: Relegated Clarets aim for final home win
Saturday 16 May 2015 14:32, UK
Burnley will be playing for pride when they welcome Stoke to Turf Moor after they were relegated from the Premier League last weekend.
The Clarets' fate was sealed despite Danny Ings' goal securing a 1-0 win at Hull as other results went against them.
They can now finish no higher than 18th in the table but will be hoping to sign off with a victory in their last home game of the season.
Stoke need just a point from their final two matches to beat their record points haul in the Premier League.
The Potters recorded an impressive 3-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur last weekend but have not won on the road for almost two months.

When the teams met at the Britannia in November, Ings netted twice in a minute to give Burnley a 2-1 win.
Team news
Burnley striker Sam Vokes has overcome a thigh injury and is available while midfielder Dean Marney and defender Kevin Long (both knee) are making "good progress" in their rehabilitation, according to manager Sean Dyche, but are still months away from a first-team return.
Stoke are expected to have goalkeeper Asmir Begovic back available after undergoing "a slight procedure" but Victor Moses (hamstring) remains doubtful.
Opta stats
Burnley have won only one of their last six league games against Stoke City, though it arrived in the reverse of this fixture back in November (D3 L2).
Stoke have avoided defeat in each of their last three trips to Turf Moor (W1 D2), keeping two clean sheets in the process.
Burnley have won just 18 Premier League points at home this term; a joint league-low alongside Crystal Palace.
The Potters have equalled their best ever points tally in the Premier League (50 - also in 2013/14).
Burnley are the only current Premier League that Peter Crouch hasn't scored against.
Turf Moor is the lowest scoring stadium in the Premier League this season (35 goals).
Merson's prediction
Burnley will want to finish well. They had a great result at Hull last weekend and so I am going to go 1-1 here as I do not like going against Stoke, who are a decent team.
PAUL PREDICTS: 1-1 (9/2 with Sky Bet)
Betting
Relegated Burnley are Sky Bet's marginal 6/4 favourites ahead of the visit of Stoke on Saturday. The Clarets won at Hull last week and will be looking to complete the double over Mark Hughes' side as the curtain comes down on their brief return to the top flight.
They recorded a 2-1 win at the Britannia back in November and a repeat of that scoreline is 9/1, although you have to go back 13 matches to find the last time the Clarets scored two goals in a match.
They have also failed to score in their last three matches at Turf Moor, all which have ended 1-0 to the visitors and Stoke to sneak it by that margin is 13/2, while exactly one goal in the match available at 3/1.
Danny Ings was on target last week and the Burnley striker is 5/2 to net in a second successive win for Burnley, while Charlie Adam, who has scored in three of the last four matches, is 11/4 to net anytime for the visitors.
