Liverpool moved up to fifth in Premier League, and to within four points of fourth-placed Manchester City, with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Newcastle on the Monday Night Football.
Raheem Sterling and Joe Allen struck in each half for the Reds as they kept their hopes of a top-four finish alive against a below-par Newcastle United side that lost for the sixth time in seven league games.
