Barcelona coach Luis Enrique highlighted the display of Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart after his side progressed to the Champions League quarter-finals on Wednesday night.

Barca won their second leg last-16 tie 1-0 at the Nou Camp to seal a 3-1 aggregate victory thanks to Ivan Rakitic’s first-half goal.

However, the final scoreline could have been far bigger had it not been for a remarkable display between the posts by City No 1 Hart, who made a string of impressive stops to keep the home side at bay thereafter.

"We had an incredible number of chances, which isn't normal in this type of game," said Enrique.

"Perhaps we lacked a little bit of precision, but we also can't take away the credit from Hart. We deserved to win much more comfortably given the chances we had.

“I expected City as they played. It was a game with a lot of chances where we could have finished it off a lot earlier.”

But overall Enrique was pleased with his team’s performance ,which now sees the Catalans safely through to Friday’s draw for the last eight.

"We got what we wanted which was to go through to the next round and I am happy with the display. We played well and this is a big boost for us at this stage of the season."
