John Carver criticises Newcastle players after Everton loss

Newcastle manager John Carver was critical of his side's "sloppy" defending as they were beaten 3-0 by Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday.
James McCarthy gave the Toffees the lead after 20 minutes of the Premier League contest and Romelu Lukaku made it 2-0 with a penalty shortly after half-time.
Fabricio Coloccini was then shown a straight red card before Ross Barkley rounded off the win in injury-time.
"Even when it was 11 against 11, we were second best," Carver told Sky Sports.
"The first two are sloppy goals, you can't afford to give the opposition a head start and we did that. At 2-0, you are up against it, then you lose your captain and go down to 10 men and you have a mountain to climb.

"Again it was hugely disappointing. We had our best chances when we went down to 10 men, which is a worry. And the loss of Coloccini now for the next three games is a bigger disappointment."
Coloccini was sent off for a reckless challenge on Aaron Lennon minutes after the winger was fouled in the box by Yoan Gouffran.
"The first goal comes from nowhere," said Carver.
"(Emmanuel) Riviere lets the guy run off him, he has acres of space to attack, the ball lands at his feet and he pops it in the back of the net. It was disappointing because up until then, they didn't have a clear chance.
