Garry Monk pleased with Swansea's 1-0 win over Burnley at Turf Moor

Swansea boss Garry Monk hailed his side's march to the 40-point mark after their hard-fought 1-0 win over Burnley at Turf Moor.
Tom Heaton's chaotic own goal proved enough for Monk's men to hit the mark with 11 games to spare - and now he has his side's previous Premier League best of 47 in his sights.
Monk was particularly pleased with the manner of Swansea's victory - which came in rather different circumstances to the heady scenes of his side's dramatic win over Manchester United last week - as they climbed to eighth in the Premier League.
"It wasn't a classic," Monk told Sky Sports. "I think it was always going to be a case of whoever could go on and get that first goal was likely to go on and win the game or have the upper hand.
"Thankfully we got that goal and held onto the lead quite comfortably in the end, but I don't think both teams created too much danger.

"We talked about the game and how hard it was going to be for us and to try and dig in and do the basics well. I think we did that throughout the game and did really well."
The Welsh outfit have reached the 40-point mark at the earliest stage of the season since returning to the top flight in 2011, and Monk is now targeting another milestone.
He added: "It's a great achievement again and it's important to the club and the players themselves so that they know they're creating that bit of history this season.
"The 47-point barrier is the next mark and a good motivation for us to try and break that."
