Premier League: Phil Jagielka keen to build on Everton draws
Sunday 11 January 2015 13:39, UK
Everton captain Phil Jagielka believes the team’s back-to-back draws have stopped the rot at Goodison Park.
Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Manchester City was the second time in four days that the Toffees had come from behind at home following on from Tuesday’s FA Cup tie against West Ham when Romelu Lukaku’s last-gasp goal earned another 1-1 draw.
The two draws ended a run of four successive league defeats but Jagielka admits they need to maintain the momentum in the third-round replay with the Hammers at Upton Park on Tuesday.

"A point (against City) was a decent result. It stops the rot but we still know we have to go out and win games and get ourselves in a better league position," said Jagielka.
"A draw against the champions was never going to be a bad result but the manner of getting back into the game against West Ham on Tuesday and the manner in which we performed and kept on going against City will make them really important going forward.
"We hoped getting a last-minute goal to keep us in the cup was the turning point and we have built on that.
"Now it depends how the next game goes - we need to go and win that game at West Ham to make it (the week) more important.
"We know it is going to be an important point for our season and we have to make sure it is a positive one.
"The cup is a lot more cut-throat because if you lose the cup is over but there needs to be a result on Tuesday.
"We will be going there to win the game; we will take any sort of win to be in the draw for the next round."
