Aston Villa have been fined £30,000 by the Football Association for failing to control their players during the Premier League match against Manchester United at Villa Park on December 20.
Villa were charged by the FA following an incident which occurred in the 65th minute of the game when forward Gabriel Agbonlahor was sent off for a challenge on United's ex-Villa winger Ashley Young.
Referee Lee Mason was surrounded by Villa players after showing Agbonlahor the red card.
Villa subsequently appealed against Agbonlahor's sending off and the red card was rescinded by the FA with the player avoiding a three-match suspension.
Meanwhile, Sheffield United have been fined £4,000 for failing to control their officials in their Capital One Cup fixture against Southampton at Bramall Lane on Tuesday December 16, a match the Blades won 1-0.
Both clubs have been warned as to their future conduct.
