Premier League: Neil Warnock hails Crystal Palace effort against Liverpool

Neil Warnock was proud of his Crystal Palace players following their 3-1 win over Liverpool, with reports of disharmony shrugged off.
It had been suggested, with Palace inside the Premier League drop zone and without a win in five, that the wheels were starting to come at Selhurst Park.
Warnock was said to be struggling to inspire at his disposal, but those critics were soundly silenced on Sunday.
Palace fell behind early on, as Rickie Lambert opened the scoring, but hit back in style through Dwight Gayle, Joe Ledley and Mile Jedinak.
Warnock was delighted to see his troops offer a positive response to recent setbacks and believes they were full value for a convincing victory over a side who have not enjoyed the best of times in south London of late.

He told Sky Sports: “That was a Neil Warnock performance today, I thought. I was really proud of them.
“Apparently they aren’t having me are they, some of them? But if that’s a team that isn’t having me, I don’t know what to do.
“I thought they were fantastic today and couldn’t have given me another ounce of effort. We played some good stuff as well.

“I thought the fans got behind us and it was like an old-fashioned cup tie.
“We created some great chances and tried to win the game by playing good football. We were solid at the back and well organised. Overall it was a very good performance today.”
Warnock added on battling back from conceding inside the opening 90 seconds: “We worked all week, all two weeks, with the back four and then we concede a goal like that.
“In fairness, (Adrian) Mariappa got injured yesterday and Kell (Martin Kelly) hadn’t been with us a lot of the time, but I thought after the goal that Kell has played really well.
“It showed that we got over the disappointment and stuck at it and came back strongly.
“I was pleased to see the equaliser go in. But at half-time we did say: ‘Let’s go for it, without being stupid like we did against Sunderland’, and I think we did.”
