Premier League: QPR striker Charlie Austin delighted after brace in win against Aston Villa
Monday 27 October 2014 22:58, UK
Striker Charlie Austin says his double in QPR’s 2-0 win at home to Aston Villa is his finest hour in Premier League football so far.
The 25-year-old scored in each half as QPR recorded just their second league win of the season.
Asked if his two-goal haul was his best moment in the Premier League to date, Austin replied: “Yeah I think so. Scoring two in the Premier League - I’m over the moon but I couldn’t do it without my team-mates. Without them I wouldn't score goals.
“It's a massive win for us. We knew if we put in half the performance we did against Liverpool, we'd get something out of this game. But we put in an even better performance and got the three points which is massive for us.
“We’ve got two tough games coming up (away at Chelsea then home to Manchester City) but we go in to them now full of confidence.”

Bobby Zamora was full of praise for Austin after his goalscoring heroics and believes QPR’s victory over Villa is an excellent platform for the side to build on.
"It was a great finish and he gave us that lead that we needed and something to hold on to,” Zamora said.
"The spirit has been good and certainly the performances at home have been very good. I think we probably should have taken a lot more points than we have done at home but today is a good turning point and a great win for us.”
