Premier League: Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini keen to improve league form

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini is hoping their midweek cup drubbing of Sheffield Wednesday will help boost their Premier League form.
Sky Bet Championship side Wednesday were holding the defending champions at half-time in their midweek Capital One Cup clash, only for City to run riot after the break and claim a 7-0 victory at the Etihad.
In contrast, Pellegrini’s side lie sixth in the table going into Saturday's trip to Hull City and although the Chilean maintains he is not panicking about their sluggish side to the season, he is keen for City to transfer their cup form to the league.
"I think it was a very useful match for our team,” Pellegrini said of the win over Wednesday.
"We were not scoring too many goals at home. In the previous four games, we didn't win.

"We were not playing bad but we were not winning, and it was important to win in the way we did.
"I hope this can continue in the future, especially tomorrow against Hull because in the Premier League we cannot drop many points.
"For all the teams, it is not good to drop points near the beginning because finally you could win or lose the Premier League by just one point.
"But for the moment, I think we are not worried."
