Roberto Martinez rued sloppy goals conceded by his Everton side after seeing the Toffees go down 3-2 at home to Crystal Palace.
The hosts completely dominated the early exchanges and deservedly went ahead via Romulu Lukaku on nine minutes.
But the Eagles equalised on the half hour mark through a Mile Jedinak penalty after Tim Howard had brought down James McArthur in the box.
Neil Warnock’s side then went two goals ahead thanks to second half efforts from Frazier Campbell and Yannick Bolasie before Leighton Baines scored a penalty consolation for the hosts late on following Scott Dann’s foul on Leon Osman.
Martinez told Sky Sports: “I thought the start of the game we were very, very good – I think as good as we’ve been for a long time.

“We scored the first goal and from that point on you’re looking to get that second goal that you always need.
"But I couldn’t see Crystal Palace getting into the game at all and obviously the penalty is a big moment in the game.
“It changes a little bit the momentum, allows Crystal Palace, well disciplined and well organised, to have a real belief that they can get something.
“A long ball from Speroni ends up in a penalty decision which is a key moment in the game.
“From that point on you have to find more energy to try and get back into the game and that suits a little bit what Crystal Palace are very, very good at.
“We have to be very disappointed to concede three goals, that’s top and bottom. Three if you want, very, very, very sloppy goals.”
