New signing Radamel Falcao was delighted with the reception he was given by the Manchester United fans during his debut against Queens Park Rangers on Sunday.
The Colombian striker joined the action in the 67th minute with United already 4-0 up and almost added to the scoreline with a chance towards the end of the game.
Robert Green blocked a Daley Blind drive and Falcao latched onto the rebound only to see the QPR keeper deny the hosts for a second time.
The 28-year-old, who had already netted twice for Monaco this season before heading to England on transfer deadline day, said: "I want to say thank you to the fans. I enjoyed the welcome a lot. It was fantastic.
"I almost scored. The goalkeeper was good. I hope to score the next game.
"It felt good to make my debut at Old Trafford. It is an extraordinary stadium, a legendary stadium and I am happy to get the win. I will enjoy this moment."
Falcao’s next outing for his new club could come against Leicester this Sunday, a match broadcast live on Sky Sports One from 1.30pm.
