Premier League: QPR boss Harry Redknapp looking forward to taking on Spurs

Harry Redknapp is trying to keep his focus on QPR business ahead of a reunion with Tottenham on Sunday at White Hart Lane.

Redknapp spent four years as Spurs manager, taking them into the top four on two occasions, and he admits he is looking forward to meeting a few old faces.

But he is putting aside any old friendships until Sunday evening as he tries to mastermind QPR's first win back in the Premier League after the 1-0 defeat by Hull at Loftus Road last weekend.

Redknapp said: “I’m expecting an attacking game. I think they’ll press us, as (Mauricio) Pochettino’s teams like to do. They’ll be in our faces.

“They’re a top side who should be pushing for the top four, like they were when I was there. 

“I shouldn’t get a bad reception, but that doesn’t concern me.

“All I’m worried about is my QPR team going there and putting on a performance and hopefully getting all three points.

"It's another game, I don't get excited too much by anything nowadays. I didn't have any bad relationships there.

"I'm sure it will be an attacking game - both teams will go for it. They've got fantastic players, they've spent over £100m in the transfer market, and so they're entitled to be a good team."

Redknapp could hand a debut to former Norwich midfielder Leroy Fer and another new signing Mauricio Isla, but the game comes a week too soon for Eduardo Vargas, who is still waiting for a work permit after his loan move from Napoli on Thursday.

And the QPR boss is happy with his summer transfer business, adding: “The board have been so supportive and we’ve now got the makings of a good side, with a nice blend of youth and experience and some real quality.

“Now it’s up to us to go out and get results with the squad of players we’ve assembled.”
