Norwich bounce back from Colchester setback
A Grant Holt hat-trick saw Norwich bounce back from their opening-day humiliation with a 4-0 Carling Cup win at Yeovil.
The Canaries suffered a 7-1 home defeat by Colchester in their League One opener on Saturday but avoided more misery after a commanding second-half performance at Huish Park.
Wes Hoolahan opened the scoring with a 55th-minute penalty before summer signing Holt doubled their lead in the 64th minute.
The former Shrewsbury striker then grabbed two in the last eight minutes to complete his treble and round off a morale-boosting victory for Bryan Gunn's men.
Yeovil's Scott Murray cleared off the line from Michael Spillane after 36 minutes but then blotted his copybook by bringing down Adam Drury, and Hoolahan converted the spot-kick.
Holt treble
Holt then headed home at the far post from a Simon Whaley cross before following up to make it 3-0 after Tom Adeyemi's shot had been saved.
And Holt then completed the scoring in stoppage time when he fired in off a post from distance.
