Molineux set for a derby of epic proportions

It's derby day at Molineux as two clubs with Premier League aspirations go head-to-head, as Wolves host West Brom in the Midlands. The Baggies make the short trip to their neighbours in the knowledge should they return to The Hawthorns with a three-point haul, they would topple Stoke at the Championship summit. Wolves are unlikely to hand over the spoils without a fight though; with their own play-off aspirations dependent on a bright close to the season. Mick McCarthy's side would go level with Crystal Palace in sixth if they secure bragging rights, but they will have to do so without the services of Karl Henry. The midfielder missed the weekend's 0-0 draw at Bristol City because of a groin injury and has failed to recover in time to feature on Tuesday. Darron Gibson deputised at Ashton Gate and could keep his place, although David Edwards is pushing for a return after missing out on a place in the squad at the weekend despite recovering from his groin problem. Long-term absentees Michael Kightly (ankle) and Stephen Ward (tendonitis) will step up their returns in a behind-closed-doors game earlier in the day as they look to get back to full fitness before the end of the season.

Baggies news

Martin Albrechtsen could return for West Brom having missed the 1-1 home draw with Watford at the weekend after suffering a groin injury at Blackpool. Albrechtsen is expected to resume training before the trip to Molineux and should be included in the squad if he suffers no ill-effects. Albion boss Tony Mowbray has hinted at changes for the game and could opt to start with top scorer Kevin Phillips on the bench. Phillips, who has scored 24 goals this season, has proved to be something of a recent nemesis for Wolves. He scored four times in as many games against Wanderers last season, including vital goals in both legs of the play-off semi-final. "I will pick the team that is fit and that is going to do damage and get the result we need," said Mowbray. "Recently Kevin has scored goals coming off the bench and that might be a potent weapon for us - we will have to wait and see."
