Robins can swoop back into the top two with victory

Bristol City will be hoping to take advantage of FA Cup weekend by moving back into the top two when they welcome Blackpool to Ashton Gate on Saturday. Victory for the Robins would see them move ahead of Watford into second place and put them level on points with Championship leaders West Brom. Gary Johnson's side have lost just twice at home this season and will be keen to put the disappointment of last Saturday's 2-0 defeat to Crystal Palace behind them as quickly as possible. Blackpool will be out to put distance between themselves and the relegation places after their recent inconsistent form, but they have lost seven of their 14 games on the road so far.

Sproule suspended

Bristol City's Ivan Sproule picked up his fifth yellow card of the season at Selhurst Park last week meaning that he must now serve a one-game ban. Club captain Louis Carey is making good progress from an Achilles injury but he remains a week away from full fitness. Striker Enoch Showunmi will be available after failing to agree personal terms with Leeds, while Australian midfielder Nick Carle is likely to feature again after making his debut against the Eagles.
Gerrard included
The Seasiders will include Paul Gerrard in their squad for the first time after the experienced goalkeeper joined on loan from Sheffield United for the remainder of the season. Simon Grayson also has the luxury of a virtually full-strength squad to choose from with only Keith Southern out of the reckoning as he continues his recovery from an ankle operation.
