Jamie Carragher says Marcus Rashford can make himself Man Utd's "main man" in attack after his blistering run of recent form.
Rashford netted his sixth goal in eight Premier League games to seal United's 1-0 win at Leicester on Sunday afternoon, continuing a stunning run since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took over at Old Trafford in December.
The interim boss immediately made Rashford his first-choice striker, with £75m Jose Mourinho signing Romelu Lukaku limited to a single start since Solskjaer's arrival, and Carragher said the 21-year-old has taken the chance with both hands.
He told Sky Sports: "The form he's in at the moment, if he continues that, they won't need to buy anyone else or bring Romelu Lukaku back into the side. He can be United's main man.
"I was at this ground to see England against Switzerland and we debated that night whether Rashford could ever be that man.
"I was doubtful of that but what's happened under the interim manager - we talk about an audition for the manager but Rashford can make himself United's centre-forward, show he can be the man to take you to a title or a Champions League."
After the game which sealed United's seventh win from eight Premier League games under Solskjaer, Rashford said he was grateful for having had the opportunity to play all across United's front line in his career to date as he racked up his 100th appearance for the club.
He said: "I don't think anyone grows up wanting to be just a striker nowadays, the game has changed and you want to be an all-round forward - to play on the left, right, number 10. What's happened in my career so far has enabled me to do that.
"Getting the goal today is good and we have to keep improving, keep doing it more and more."
