Jamie Carragher says he is yet to be convinced by Loris Karius after the Liverpool goalkeeper's late error against Bournemouth.
The Reds No 1 spilled Steve Cook's long-range shot, allowing Nathan Ake to bundle in from close range in stoppage time, capping the Cherries' late rally to beat Liverpool 4-3 on Sunday.
Speaking on Sky Sports after the match, Carragher felt Karius was also at fault for Bournemouth's second goal, when substitute Ryan Fraser fired home.
"It's nowhere near good enough from the goalkeeper [for Fraser's goal]," Carragher said. "This goalkeeper is yet to convince me - in any game - that he's of the required standard.
"The seven or eight games he has played, and I know it's still early days and who knows how he will do over the next two or three years, but it has to be a massive improvement from him.
"He hasn't done anything yet in those games to impress me."
Liverpool twice squandered two-goal leads at the Vitality Stadium, and in the end were beaten by Ake's 93rd-minute strike.
Carragher described Karius' mistake for the Bournemouth winner as "shocking", but does not believe Simon Mignolet is good enough to step in, with West Ham up next in the league live on Sky Sports.
"It's a shocking mistake [for the winner]," Carragher said. "Going back over the last three or four years, is it to do with the goalkeeper?
"Now and again you need your goalkeeper to make a save. I know he made a decent save from Benik Afobe but when you come under pressure you need your goalkeeper.
"It's no coincidence Liverpool have fallen apart over the last two or three years. I've said before Simon Mignolet is not good enough."
