Manchester City Women are to hold talks with the FA after Pauline Bremer waited an hour for an ambulance after suffering a leg fracture during their 3-2 win at Everton.
There were no emergency services present at the Women's Super League clash on Saturday meaning Bremer had to wait an hour for an ambulance after a collision with Everton's Gabrielle George.
Members of both City and Everton's medical teams were present and Bremer was carried off the pitch on a stretcher by her team-mates to wait for the ambulance.
Ambulances have to be present throughout the men's professional game, but the rules don't place any requirement on the home team to have emergency services present at WSL matches.
City have therefore contacted the FA and talks about the standards and priorities of the governing body will happen once both the clubs have been consulted.
The team's manager Nick Cushing said: "We are encouraged that it has been looked at and that there are positive conversations from all parties of that conversation."
Former City defender Lucy Bronze tweeted her concerns over the standards of top-flight women's football.
