Dick Advocaat believes Jose Mourinho needs time to turn Manchester United's form around.

Fenerbahce manager Dick Advocaat says Jose Mourinho is a talented manager but "not a magician".

United began the season brightly but have struggled to maintain momentum and have slipped to eighth in the Premier League table following Saturday's frustrating goalless draw against Burnley when they failed to convert any of their 37 attempts on goal.

Mourinho's men bid to get back on track in Thursday's Europa League Group A tie in Istanbul and Advocaat is aware of their capabilities after Fenerbahce were swept aside 4-1 at Old Trafford in the reverse fixture.

"He is not a magician. There are so many good players at United, which is good on one hand and on the other hand it makes it difficult to find the right line-up.

"But it is a matter of time, he knows that. But quality-wise if you have six players like Manchester United it is still difficult to find - is it Martial, is it Rashford, is it Rooney? It's quite difficult.

"But I am sure that they will play for the first place, no doubts about that, and they will start winning games as well, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic will start scoring because that man knows how to score.
