Jamie Redknapp says Anthony Martial is the best 19-year-old footballer he's seen since Lionel Messi burst onto the scene.
The striker moved to Manchester United from Monaco on deadline day for a deal worth a potential £58m, in a move that raised plenty of eyebrows. However, the striker has started life brilliantly in the Premier League, netting four goals in five matches for Louis van Gaal's side.
And Redknapp, speaking ahead of United's clash with Arsenal on Super Sunday, has been impressed with what he's seen.
"I watched Anthony Martial for 90 minutes in the Champions League and the only 19-year-old I've seen better at that age was Lionel Messi.
"I played against Wayne Rooney when he made his debut but this boy has so much intelligence. He knows when to pass, when to cross it, when to dribble and when to shoot. He goes past people like they're not there.
"Everything he does, there is a reason behind it. It's like he's been here before - certain players have this, you can't put your finger on what it is, but it's just a quality. I love watching him play. He's going to be a superstar."
