Gareth Southgat names England squad to face Croatia and Spain in Nations League ties on Thursday
Thursday 4 October 2018 07:01, UK
Jadon Sancho, Joe Hart and Daniel Sturridge should be named in Gareth Southgate's next England squad, according to you, the skysports.com readers.
We asked you to pick your squad for the Sky Live Nations League ties away to Croatia and Spain using our squad selector.
After thousands of entries, Borussia Dortmund's teenage star Sancho and previously-dropped goalkeeper Hart were the surprise inclusions when the results were collated into a final 23-man group, while fit-again Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge also got the nod.
Former Manchester City youngster Sancho has recorded one goal and five assists for his Bundesliga side this season, despite being limited to just 125 minutes from the bench, and the 18-year-old has the public's backing for a first-ever call-up.
Hart, who put in a fine performance for Burnley on Sunday at their win in Cardiff, also made the grade, as he continues to recapture his best form after a season to forget at West Ham in 2017/18 which cost him his place on the plane to the World Cup in Russia this summer.
Sturridge was also a popular selection by you, our readers, and he makes the cut among the forwards after starting the season injury-free and firing for high-flying Liverpool.
Here are the most popular selections by skysports.com readers:
Goalkeepers: Jordan Pickford, Joe Hart, Jack Butland
Defenders: Joe Gomez, Harry Maguire, Trent Alexander-Arnold, John Stones, Kieran Trippier, Luke Shaw, Kyle Walker, Danny Rose
Midfielders: Jordan Henderson, Jesse Lingard, Eric Dier, Dele Alli, Raheem Sterling, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Jadon Sancho, Fabian Delph
