South Korea overcame Ecuador 2-0 in their friendly in Seoul as they warmed up for the World Cup finals.

South Korea overcame Ecuador 2-0 in their friendly in Seoul as they warmed up for the World Cup finals. Goals from Lee Sung-ryeol and Bolton winger Lee Chung-yong were enough to give the World Cup hopefuls a morale-boosting victory. South Korea dominated for long proceedings of the game and Yeom Ki-hun went close to scoring on 37 minutes when he headed Lee Dong-guk's cross against the crossbar. Ecuador keeper Marcela Elizaga denied Lee Dong-guk the opener on the hour with a superb save down low. Lee Sung-ryeol came off the bench to open the scoring 18 minutes from time when he fired home from the edge of the box. Bolton ace Lee Chung-yong added a second six minutes from the end with a close-range finish to seal the victory. The Taeguk Warriors have three more warm-up games against Japan, Belarus and Spain before they head to South Africa. South Korea face Argentina, Nigeria and Greece in Group B in the World Cup.
