Liverpool made it three pre-season wins out of three against Wigan, but which youngsters stood out for Jurgen Klopp's side?
Goals from Danny Ings and Ben Woodburn gave Liverpool the win at the DW Stadium, and the performance of Woodburn in particular will have Reds fans excited for the future.
Klopp has been vocal about his support for the youth setup at Anfield, giving academy players the opportunity to step up this summer and in cup games last season, but which three strengthened their cause for Premier League action on Sunday?
Ben Woodburn
Of all the youth players Klopp has blooded through this summer, 16-year-old Woodburn has created the most noise.
Scoring in the 5-0 win over Fleetwood in midweek, he looked fearless again on Sunday, calmly finishing past Lee Nicholls with a poked effort with his right foot.
Woodburn can play in a variety of positions across the frontline, and was not long ago arriving for U16 sessions in his school uniform.
Klopp said after the game that he will do all he can to ensure the youngsters are strong for the future, and so far in pre-season with three wins out of three and as many clean sheets, they have been given a fair run-out.
Ryan Kent
Perhaps the most impressive of the second-half substitutes at the DW on Sunday, 19-year-old Kent looks all the better for his 17-game loan stint at Coventry in League One last term.
He routinely found a yard on his marker with the ball at his feet in tight areas, and was unlucky not to score on two occasions as a couple of efforts from an angle drifted just wide of the post.
His through-ball for Woodburn's goal moments after Danny Ings' opener was superb, turning 180 degrees and releasing the ball at the perfect time to catch Wigan off guard.
Trent Alexander-Arnold
His fine run and assist for Ings' goal against Tranmere made a few Liverpool fans stand up and take note, and similarly at the DW on Sunday, the 17-year-old looked bright.
An engine in midfield, Alexander-Arnold capitalised on a tiring Wigan backline after being brought on in the second-half, and had a good eye for a pass in-behind the defence as the hosts pushed up late on.
