Chelsea finished the 2017/18 Premier League season in fifth place.

Chelsea's Premier League title defence looked doomed from the start, as they opened the campaign with a chaotic 3-2 loss at home to Burnley in which Gary Cahill and Cesc Fabregas were sent off.
Antonio Conte's side appeared weakened by the departures of Nemanja Matic and Diego Costa, with new signings struggling to make an impact, and their form deteriorated in the second half of the season. At one point, there was a run of five losses from seven Premier League games.
A late surge put them within touching distance of the top four, but their hopes collapsed with their 3-0 loss to Newcastle on the final day of the season. Next weekend's FA Cup final provides an opportunity to salvage silverware from a disappointing season, but it is almost certain to be Conte's final game in charge regardless of the result.
Best day of 2017/18
The 2-1 win over Tottenham at Wembley back in August was a reminder of how they became champions last season.
Worst day of 2017/18
The 3-0 loss at home to Bournemouth in January was the start of the run which ultimately cost them a place in the top four.
Managerial review
It hasn't been good enough from Antonio Conte and Chelsea. They're in the FA Cup final but to miss out on the Champions League after winning the Premier League last season isn't good. He'll know that himself - he'll be disappointed.
Player of year
It's between Eden Hazard and Willian but I'll go with Hazard.
Prospects for 2018/19
I think they'll have a new manager, for starters. It looks that way, although I'd like him to stay. I'd expect some other changes too. I don't think Alvaro Morata will be there - I don't think Chelsea suits him and it doesn't look like he's enjoying it.
