A stunning solo goal from Piqueti was not enough for Guinea-Bissau as Cameroon came from behind to win 2-1 in Libreville and take pole position in Group A at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Piqueti powered through the Cameroon defence to give his side an early lead, but Sebastien Siani equalised and Michael Ngadeu-Ngadjui struck what proved to be the winner as Cameroon clinched victory.

Cameroon went close as Clinton N'Jie pulled the ball down at the back post, but Juary Soares blocked from Vincent Aboubakar.

Piqueti launched an attack from deep inside his own half, lifting the ball over Collins Fai before chasing on to it. He surged by the defenders before cutting to his right and rifling in an unstoppable shot.

Guinea's speed on the break troubled Cameroon, but Ambroise Oyongo's late intervention denied Frederic Mendy.

Benjamin Moukandjo shot into the ground and Jonas Mendes saved as Cameroon went close again.

Next, N'Jie burst down the left and cut the ball back for Aboubakar in space, but the striker spurned the opportunity as a low Moukandjo shot went wide from the edge of the area before Guinea went close again.

Mendy hassled Oyongo, stole the ball and lifted it towards goal as Fabrice Ondoa rushed out, but Ngadeu-Ngadjui cleared the ball off the line.

Ondoa saved from Mendy before Cameroon equalised. Guinea failed to clear, Moukandjo teed up Siani, who powered a low shot into the bottom corner.

Cameroon continued to press and had a second when Christian Bassogog ran down the right and the ball fell for Ngadeu-Ngadjui. He blasted the ball in at the near post.

Substitute Robert Ndip Tambe dragged a shot across goal in stoppage time as Cameroon celebrated victory.

Elsewhere, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was unable to inspire Gabon to a first win of the competition as the hosts drew 1-1 with Burkina Faso.

The Borussia Dortmund striker converted a first-half penalty, cancelling out Prejuce Nakoulma's opener at Stade de l'Amitie, as Gabon had to settle for a second successive draw.

Aubameyang struck a third-minute free-kick narrowly over from the edge of the area before Denis Bouanga led a counter-attack.

Bouanga's shot struck the crossbar and Aubameyang weakly headed the rebound towards goal where Kouakou Koffi made a comfortable save.

Burkina Faso were forced into an early change when Nakoulma replaced Jonathan Pitroipa, who was taken off on a stretcher with fears over his future in the tournament due to an ankle injury.

Nakoulma scored soon after his introduction. Burkina Faso cleared a Gabon corner and he raced on to the ball, slipped by two defenders and netted.

Koffi saved from Bouanga before Gabon were forced into a change, with Johann Obiang going off and Benjamin Ze Ondo coming on after Obiang appeared to suffer a knee injury.

The hosts equalised after Koffi wiped out Aubameyang inside the box as the striker chased a long ball. Aubameyang sent the goalkeeper the wrong way from the spot.

Didier Ovono, the Gabon goalkeeper, was called into action to deny Burkina Faso substitute Bertrand Traore and the hosts were denied a winner nine minutes from time when Koffi saved from Bouanga after Aubameyang's cross.
