Incoming Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has admitted his admiration for Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba.

Guardiola has agreed to replace Manuel Pellegrini at City this summer and has previously been linked with a possible move for the much sought-after Juve man.

Guardiola's current side Bayern Munich took on Pogba's Juventus in the Champions League on Tuesday night, playing out a 2-2 draw.

Guardiola was asked about Pogba in his post-match press conference and said: "Now, he's a Juventus player. He's very strong and very young.

"He's shown his value, but I know he's happy at Juve and I wish him a long career.

"Would I like to coach him? It doesn't depend on me, but on the club."

Pogba, who is under contract with Serie A leaders Juve until 2019, has been linked with a number of top clubs in Europe but said in an interview with Sky Germany that playing under Guardiola could take his game to the next level.
