Panama's physical approach will be key if they are to get a result against England, says MLS expert and former Houston Dynamo striker Calen Carr.

Panama put up a brave fight before being brushed aside 3-0 by Belgium in their first match in Group G, but Carr believes they will still pose a threat to Gareth Southgate's side.

Carr told Sky Sports News: "We see a lot of Panama when they play the United States and they are really difficult to play against.

"They held Belgium, one of the most talented teams in the world, for the first 45 minutes and I'm sure Gareth Southgate will remind his team that some big nations such as Argentina, Brazil and Germany have all had real trouble at the World Cup so far.

"Belgium boss Roberto Martinez was critical of their physicality after the match but that's just Panama and I do think their physicality will cause England trouble."

Despite their physical threat, Carr believes England and specifically Harry Kane will be too much to handle.

Carr added: "It's tough to bet against England right now. Harry Kane is one of the most in-form strikers with Cristiano Ronaldo. He's been immense and a figure for England to lean on.

"I don't think Panama have enough firepower or experience to win this one, and it's a tall task but it's an incredible feat for them to even be at the World Cup."
