New York Red Bulls will hope to have put their poor start to the MLS season behind them after Bradley Wright-Phillips got off the mark in a 3-2 win over Orlando City.

Wright-Phillips scored twice after Mike Grella had cancelled out Cyle Larin's early goal for Orlando, giving the Red Bulls only their second win of the season after eight games.

Larin struck three minutes in but it took New York until the 65th minute to respond. However, Grella's slotted shot was the first of three goals in 10 minutes as they took control before Karl Ouimette's 84th minute own goal set up a nervous finish.

The San Jose Earthquakes extended their unbeaten home record to start the season as they edged out Sporting Kansas City 1-0.
