Steven Defour is set to make his Burnley return in the Carabao Cup against Burton, following months on the sidelines with a knee injury.
Manager Sean Dyche is set to put the 30-year-old back into his matchday squad after a nine-month lay off.
The Belgium international has not played for the Clarets since January after undergoing knee surgery, but having successfully negotiated a behind-closed-doors friendly on Thursday he was added to the squad.
Burnley will be without summer signing Ben Gibson however, who faces a minor hernia operation.
Dyche has already admitted he intends to shuffle his squad ahead of the Burton clash, with his side having already played many games this season due to their participation in the Europa League.
Burnley were eliminated at the play-off stage of the competition by Greek side Olympiacos, and have struggled domestically as they find themselves in 17th place in the Premier League.
Provisional squad to face Burton: Hart, Heaton, Lowton, Taylor, Tarkowski, Mee, Ward, Bardsley, Long, Cork, Gudmundsson, Hendrick, Westwood, Lennon, McNeil, Vokes, Defour, Barnes, Wood, Vydra.
