Before I focus on the Manchester derby, here are some reflections on England's win in Slovakia. It looked like they would be held to a draw, but it ended up being England's 13th qualifying win in a row for since a 0-0 draw away to Ukraine in September 2013 thanks to Adam Lallana's stoppage-time winner.
England are, in fact, unbeaten in their last 30 qualifiers since a 1-0 defeat away to Ukraine in October 2009.
It was Slovakia's second home defeat in their last 14 matches - the other was against Belarus when they had already qualified for Euro 2016.
England have scored in 14 of their last 15 competitive games. The only time they have failed to score in that time was against Slovakia at Euro 2016. They are unbeaten in their last 14 away games (excluding neutral venues). The last defeat was a 4-2 loss to Ibrahimovic's Sweden in November 2012.
Sam Allardyce continued the run of managers who won their first game in charge of England. It's now nine in a row since Bobby Robson drew 2-2 away to Denmark in 1982. Some of them may wish they had the fortune of World-Cup-winning Sir Alf Ramsey who lost his first game to France!
Would Zlatan be the first Swede to score in the Manchester derby? Mat
MARTIN SAYS: Yes he would. Thanks to our friends at Opta, I can tell you that players from 21 different nationalities have scored in Premier League Manchester derbies - and that list does not include any players from Sweden.
In fact, according to our records only one Swede has ever played in a Manchester derby before - and that is Andreas Isaksson, who made his debut for City in place of the injured Nicky Weaver in a 3-1 defeat at Old Trafford in December 2006. He also played in the return match in May 2007.
Only three Swedes have represented Manchester United in the Premier League - Jesper Blomqvist, Henrik Larsson and Bojan Djordjic (who was born in Belgrade, but played for Sweden at youth level) - and none of those played in a derby match.
So Ibrahimovic could become the first Swede to play outfield in a Manchester derby and could add his name to the list below:
Manchester derby goalscorers by nationality (excluding own goals):
- ENGLAND: 38 - Wayne Rooney 8, Paul Scholes 5, Andy Cole, Robbie Fowler, Paul Ince, Shaun Wright-Phillips, Trevor Sinclair, Darius Vassell (all 2), Gareth Barry, Joey Barton, David Beckham, Michael Carrick, Steve Howey, James Milner, Michael Owen, Marcus Rashford, Teddy Sheringham, Chris Smalling, Ashley Young (all 1)
- FRANCE: 10 - Eric Cantiona 7, Nicolas Anelka, Samir Nasri (both 1)
- ARGENTINA: 9 - Sergio Aguero 7, Carlos Tevez, Pablo Zabaleta (both 1)
- REPUBLIC OF IRELAND: 6 - Niall Quinn 4, Roy Keane, Jonathan Macken (both 1)
- NETHERLANDS: 5 - Ruud van Nistelrooy 4, Robin van Persie 1
- WALES: 5 - Craig Bellamy 2, Mark Hughes 2, Ryan Giggs 1
- BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA: 4 - Edin Dzeko 4
- PORTUGAL: 4 - Cristiano Ronaldo 3, Nani 1
- RUSSIA: 4 - Andrei Kanchelskis 4
- BERMUDA: 3 - Shaun Goater 3
IVORY COAST: 3 - Yaya Toure 3
- SCOTLAND: 3 - Darren Fletcher 3

Which player has contributed to the most goals (goals + assists) in Manchester derbies? Paddy S
MARTIN SAYS: Since 1992/93, Wayne Rooney has scored the most goals in Premier League Manchester derbies. Here are the players to have scored at least three times in derby clashes:
However, Rooney has only made one derby assist in his 20 appearances for Juan Mata's goal in a 4-2 win in 2014/15. The Opta stats do not count assists on own goals - but I remember Rooney's shot going in off Richard Dunne in a 2-0 win at Manchester City in February 2005, so there's another contribution he has made.
The record for most assists is held by Ryan Giggs who assisted 12 goals in 29 derby appearances, according to Opta. Here are the players with more than one derby assist:
If you add goals and assists together then Giggs comes out on top. He has contributed to 13 goals in his 29 appearances.
Second on the list is Eric Cantona who only played in six Premier League Manchester derbies and yet had a hand in 10 goals (seven goals, three assists):
Which players have played for both teams in the Manchester derby in the PL? Abadur
MARTIN SAYS: Throughout history we have seen several players play for both Manchester United and Manchester City including Denis Law, Billy Meredith, Brian Kidd, Sammy McIlroy, Mark Robins and Peter Barnes.
However, in the Premier League only five players have played for both. They are:
- Andy Cole
- Owen Hargreaves
- Andrei Kanchelskis
- Peter Schmeichel
- Carlos Tevez
However, only four of those played on both sides in a derby match. Owen Hargreaves only made one Premier League appearance for Manchester City and that was against Aston Villa in 2011 so never faced United in a derby.
No player has scored for both teams in a Manchester derby in the Premier League.
What's Jose Mourinho's record like against Man City? Marcus
MARTIN SAYS: Mourinho has faced Manchester City 14 times as a manager, winning seven, drawing four and losing three. However, he has not won any of this last four matches against them.
As Chelsea manager, he lost his first match against Man City (1-0 in October 2004 - his first Premier League defeat) and also his most recent match against them (3-0 in August 2015). His other defeat came in his only FA Cup clash with Man City in February 2014 as Chelsea lost 2-0 at the Etihad. All three defeats came at City's home ground.
Mourinho faced Man City twice as Real Madrid manager in the Champions League group stage in 2012, securing a 3-2 win at the Bernabeu and a 1-1 draw in Manchester.
However, a good omen for Manchester United fans travelling to Old Trafford on Saturday is that Mourinho has never lost a home match against Man City. In six home games with Chelsea and Real Madrid he has won four and drawn three.
