Lionel Messi added another record to his CV on Tuesday as he broke Argentina's all-time goalscoring record in a 4-0 victory over the United States to book a place in the Copa America final.
The South American superstar surpassed Gabriel Batistuta's 54 international goals with the kind of free-kick Barcelona fans are used to seeing week-in week-out.
Messi's brilliance inspired the victory that puts Argentina in the Copa America final where they will face either Colombia or reigning champions Chile.
The five-time world player of the year has five goals in this year's tournament as he aims to lead Argentina to their first major title in 23 years.
