Republic of Ireland striker Jonathan Walters still has a chance of playing a part in their World Cup play-off despite currently being injured.
Martin O'Neil's team will compete for a place at next summer's finals against Denmark over two legs after beating Wales 1-0 in their final Group D match in October.
Walters did not feature on that occasion due to a knee injury and looked set to miss out on November's play-off, but O'Neil has hinted the 34-year old could still play a part.
O'Neil, who did not include Walters in his provisional squad on Thursday, said: "I haven't put him in at the moment, but he's making good progress.
"Jon has played games this season, but we'll see what the next seven or eight days bring."
The news that Walters may still represent his country comes after Burnley manager Sean Dyche played down the suggestions that his striker could be out until Christmas.
Walters played a major role in Ireland reaching Euro 2016 when he scored twice in a play-off against Bosnia and Herzegovina two years ago.
O'Neil has included Wolves defender Matt Doherty, goalkeeper Keiren Westwood and Everton's James McCarthy in his 34-man squad as well as David Meyler, who will be suspended for the first leg.
Ireland are away for the first leg in Copenhagen on Saturday, November 11 before returning to Dublin for the return match at the Aviva Stadium on Tuesday, November 14 with both games live on Sky Sports.
