Borussia Dortmund's Jadon Sancho has made a huge impression in England training this week, Fabian Delph says.
The 18-year-old made his England debut last month against Croatia after an impressive start to the season in the Bundesliga and retained his place in Gareth Southgate's squad for the upcoming games against the USA and Croatia.
Sky sources understand the former Manchester City winger is set to be handed his full England debut in Thursday's friendly against the USA at Wembley, live on Sky Sports Main Event.
Delph will captain England in the fixture and is predicting a big future for Sancho after displaying his ability at the team's St George's Park base.
"The sky is the limit for him," he said. "I only managed to spend one week with him at City before he left. I was very impressed with him then but seeing him now he is very calm and very confident.
"You see certain things in certain players which stand out. He's done that for me this week. I've sat back and thought 'Wow, we've got a special player here'.
"His timing, his decision making. He can adapt in different situations, if you are aggressive with him he'll pop the ball off, if you stand off him he'll beat you. He's so young, the sky really is the limit."
Delph also revealed how having Wayne Rooney around the squad this week has had a positive impact on the younger players who would have grown up watching England's record goalscorer in action.
"It is amazing having Wayne around, we have a lot of young lads in the squad and they would have been watching him as a kid scoring lots of amazing goals, so to be sharing a pitch with him it gives you that extra boost," he said.
"Jadon Sancho is 18 years old, for him it must be absolutely amazing to have Wayne around. Wayne spends time with all the lads, and has given them all advice.
"Jadon must be astonished to be standing on the same pitch as Wayne Rooney."
