Jadon Sancho drew praise from his England team-mates after making his debut in Friday's stalemate against Croatia.
Sancho replaced Raheem Sterling with 12 minutes remaining, the Borussia Dortmund winger becoming the first player born after 2000 to represent the England senior side.
Gareth Southgate said the 18-year-old, who showed glimpses of direct running and trickery, had "a good impact" during his late cameo.
And Sancho's new team-mates had praise of their own for the former Manchester City youngster.
"He's great," captain Harry Kane told Sky Sports.
"Big congrats to him for his debut. I thought he came on and made an impact as well. He's been great in training and he has just got to keep working hard and playing games and I'm sure he will have a very bright future."
Eric Dier echoed Kane's sentiments, saying: "I think he was fantastic when he came on.
"He was direct and technically he's very gifted. Hopefully he can be a big part of England in the future if he keeps working hard."
The Sky Sports pundits agreed that the youngster had brought belated excitement to the behind-closed-doors affair in Rijeka.
"It took him a while to get his first touch but he showed some great glimpses of what we can expect," Emile Heskey said.
Jamie Carragher said: "There wasn't too much attacking excitement but it did seem to liven up a bit when Jadon came on. He provided that bit of trickery out wide, that freshness."
"He tried to make things happen," Alex Scott added. He's shown no fear. He'll be in contention against Spain."
